Finishes

The term faux finishes literally means “false” finishes traditionally referring to reproducing granite, stone, marble and wood grain, but has become the accepted request for anything besides flat paint. Glazes and paints can be layered and blended to create luminescent textures on any paintable surface that brings a more elegant look to any space. It can also be used to distress and create an aged or ancient effect to reflect a more old world feel. Many wonderful products have been designed to enhance artistic creativity in this area, making the possibilities of desired finishes virtually endless with plasters, textured and metallic paints and patinas.

Anything that isn’t nailed down can become a piece of art! Frames and the tables they sit on can become as much a part of the artistic statement as the work of art itself. This makes a trip to the flea market a treasure chest of potential masterpieces!
